Troll Hunter is a fantastic film. (That is true in more than one sense of the word, but I look forward to seeing it again when it comes to Atlanta!) And the trailers for Gawd Bless America look hilarious. I hope it holds up to my expectations.

I have found that most archetypal stories like this have some grain of truth to them. Many "stories" about atypical events are "projected interpretations" much like you discovered with the changeling situation. The brain has a tendency to categorize and assign causation to events that are either extraordinary or undesirable.

This extends as well to psychological experiences being interpreted within the context of a religious narrative.

One thing I find interesting is how Carl Jung found that when these experiences occurred within people who had no narrative at all with which to "explain" them, that madness was often the result. So in some way, these "narratives", however false they are, tend to have some psychological benefit. The mind wants to get to the point where whatever is happening "makes sense", no matter how nonsensical that might appear objectively.

A donation has been made! Would there be any desire for donated items? I have a DVD player and some DVDs that I'd love to go to someone who needs it, as well as clothes if the boys are the right size.

It finally hits Atlanta news:

http://www.ajc.com/news/cobb/billboards-shun-religion-promote-608792.html

"The billboards, which will run for a month, include such messages as "Imagine No Religion", "Sleep In On Sundays" and even a quote from the late Thelma "Butterfly" McQueen, who played the maid Prissy in "Gone with the Wind." McQueen, a longtime member of the foundation and an atheist, is quoted as saying " "As my ancestors are free from slavery, I am free from the slavery of religion.""
