Skepticamp Rules & Resources for Speakers

Rules for Speakers

  1. Join the Atlanta Skepticamp Google group for the latest updates!
  2. Be prepared to back up information you present and cite your sources. It ain’t called Skepticamp for nothing!
  3. Since discussion and questions are encouraged during talks, try to move all your key points to the start of your talk. This will avoid the awkward problem of running out of time without having made your key point.
  4. Each presentation time is 30 minutes. This includes time for discussion, questions and set up in between talks. For this reason we ask that presentations run a maximum time of around 15 minutes!
  5. The best way to know how long your talk will run is to practice, PRACTICE, PRACTICE! Time keeper WILL stop you at 30 minutes, be sure to leave ample time for questions and discussion at the end of your presentation
  6. If you are presenting please try to get your presentation bundled up and sent via email to  Scott Little or Maria Walters (if you are on the schedule, you should get a note with specific email addresses).  Also bring a copy with you on a thumb drive so we can just pop it into a laptop and you can go. Best to use PowerPoint or bring your own rig if you don’t use it because we can’t guarantee that we will have the right software other
    than PowerPoint.
